ICX7550-48F Exact Switch Variant

ICX7550-48F is the RUCKUS 48-port mixed 1GbE and 1/10GbE fiber aggregation switch. The official model table specifies 36 100/1000Mb SFP plus 12 1/10GbE SFP/SFP+, 912 Gbps switching capacity and 678 Mpps forwarding capacity for this exact variant.

Mixed-speed fiber distribution

The 48F uses thirty-six lower-speed SFP downlinks and twelve 1/10GbE SFP/SFP+ positions. Preserve that split when assigning rooms, buildings and higher-capacity aggregation paths.

Deployment evidence

Separate the optic schedule into access-fiber and high-speed groups, then document speed, reach and failure priority for each circuit. Test auto-negotiation or fixed-speed behavior with the real peer, plus route and MAC movement during link failover. A generic forty-eight-fiber-port description is insufficient because the two port groups have different supported speed roles.

Family boundaries

ICX 7550 variants can participate in the same product family, but copper, PoE and fiber port identities are not interchangeable. Power supplies, optics and licenses must be verified as separate received items unless the authorized bill of materials explicitly includes them.
