ICX7550-48F-E2 Fiber Aggregation Bundle

ICX7550-48F-E2 is not a 48-port RJ45 access switch. Its front-panel population is split between 36 100/1000 Mbps SFP interfaces and 12 1/10 GbE SFP+ interfaces for fiber aggregation.

Optics are a separate bill of materials

The E2 bundle includes two 400 W AC power supplies and three front-to-back fans, while transceivers are sold separately. Build the optical BOM by media, distance, wavelength, connector and peer compatibility; a populated chassis cannot be inferred from the switch PID.

High-speed uplink boundary

Two 40/100 GbE QSFP28 ports can serve uplink or stacking roles. Document breakout intent, supported cable/optic type and stack topology before purchase. Do not borrow the copper or PoE assumptions of ICX7550-24-E2 or ICX7550-24P-E2-R3.

Airflow and redundancy

Confirm that both AC feeds are independent and all three fans match front-to-back airflow. Mixed fan direction can invalidate the rack cooling design even when the switch boots normally.

Fiber acceptance evidence

Capture exact PID/serial, supply and fan inventory, optics part numbers, DOM readings, error counters, link rates, uplink/stack state and software version. Test representative 1G SFP, 10G SFP+ and QSFP28 paths under the intended configuration.
