ICX7550-48 Exact Switch Variant

ICX7550-48 is the RUCKUS 48-port 1 Gigabit Ethernet copper access switch. The official model table specifies 48 10/100/1000BASE-T, 416 Gbps switching capacity and 309 Mpps forwarding capacity for this exact variant.

High-density non-PoE closet

This forty-eight-port model doubles copper edge density without adding PoE. Confirm rack, patch-panel and separate endpoint-power capacity before consolidating users into one failure domain.

Deployment evidence

Build a port schedule for all forty-eight positions with active, reserved and unused states. Measure uplink oversubscription and document which users move during a switch or stack failure. Acceptance should include cable labeling, access policy, management reachability and a capacity threshold that triggers another closet switch rather than unreviewed port expansion.

Family boundaries

ICX 7550 variants can participate in the same product family, but copper, PoE and fiber port identities are not interchangeable. Power supplies, optics and licenses must be verified as separate received items unless the authorized bill of materials explicitly includes them.
