ICX7550-48P-E2 High-Density PoE+ Bundle

ICX7550-48P-E2 doubles the powered access-port count of ICX7550-24P-E2 to 48 while retaining 1 GbE copper and 802.3at PoE+. Capacity planning must account for both data oversubscription and endpoint power across the larger edge population.

Forty-eight powered ports need prioritization

Create a port-by-port PoE table and assign shedding priority for critical voice, wireless and security devices. Test the required critical population under loss of one AC source; nominal dual-supply installation alone does not prove the desired failure-state budget.

E2 cooling and power inventory

RUCKUS specifies two 1200 W AC power supplies plus three front-to-back fans. Capture supply and fan part numbers and verify rack airflow. Optional port modules and transceivers remain separate, so they require their own compatibility and receiving checks.

Uplink design for a dense edge

Allocate the two 40 GbE QSFP+ dual-mode ports between stacking and upstream connectivity. Measure aggregate traffic, verify cable/optic PIDs and test failover; a 48-port PoE edge can outgrow a single oversubscribed uplink even when all endpoint links are healthy.

No implied R3 entitlement

The exact PID lacks R3. Keep hardware acceptance, warranty and any remote-support contract as separate evidence. Record exact serial, 48 link and PoE tests, one-feed behavior, airflow, software and stack/uplink state.
