An eight-port copper appliance with a separate mounting requirement

FP7050-K9 identifies the Cisco FirePOWER 7050 chassis, a 1U device with eight copper sensing interfaces. The hardware guide describes the appliance as half the width of its rack tray. A suitable tray and rack-mounting kit are required separately; the chassis order alone should not be treated as proof that those accessories are supplied.

Understand the configured bypass path

The eight copper interfaces support configurable bypass. The management interface is reserved for maintenance and configuration, not service traffic. Record the sensing-interface pairs and intended bypass settings when replacing a deployed unit so that the management connection is not mistaken for an extra protected data link.

Use the expired lifecycle date in planning

Cisco explicitly lists FP7050-K9 in the FirePOWER 7000 and 8000 end-of-life notice. Its final support and signature-release date was June 30, 2024. A stored or replacement unit remains within that expired lifecycle; the model must not be presented as having current manufacturer support merely because hardware is available for quotation.

Separate an operational spare from migration

For an existing installation, confirm the software image, connection layout, supplied mounting accessories and the reason an identical spare is needed. Record any seller warranty independently from Cisco support. A migration comparison should use the requirements of the deployment instead of assuming a historical suggested replacement is still currently supported.
