901-R500-WW00 Standard-Managed 802.11ac AP

901-R500-WW00 is the standard-managed worldwide-region R500. It is a concurrent dual-band indoor 802.11ac access point using 2x2 SU-MIMO and two spatial streams, with two 1 GbE RJ45 interfaces and 802.3af power support.

R500 is not the R510 Wave 2 order

Official R500 specifications identify SU-MIMO and do not assign the Wave 2 MU-MIMO capability stated for 9U1-R510-WW00. Keep the full model and 901 prefix in replacement records so the older standard-managed platform is not represented as an Unleashed R510.

Management and software compatibility

Validate the intended SmartZone, ZoneDirector, cloud or standalone workflow and the exact supported firmware for the received serial. The 901 order does not itself include an Unleashed license package. Preserve controller ownership and rollback details before changing an existing WLAN.

Dual ports and power boundary

Test both Gigabit Ethernet ports and the selected uplink design. The data sheet lists maximum consumption of 10.5 W on 802.3af and specifies no bundled power adapter; any injector or DC supply is a separate accessory. Confirm mount and power components from the shipment rather than a sibling SKU.

Site acceptance

Capture PID, serial, WW regulatory match, management release, two wired links, PoE draw, both radio bands, channel plan, SSID/VLAN, authentication, roaming and measured coverage. Correct the CMS taxonomy to the R500 access-point family instead of retaining an R720-only category.
