EX4300-48T-DCI-TAA Hardware Identity

EX4300-48T-DCI-TAA is a Juniper EX4300 fixed-configuration Ethernet switch. Its verified hardware profile is 48 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports and four QSFP+ ports; no PoE on access ports. The complete code carries TAA procurement-qualified order suffix, DC-powered order form, airflow-in order form. Preserve every suffix on the quote, carton and asset record.

Port and power boundary

AC or DC supply according to exact SKU. The uplink configuration is optional four-port SFP+ uplink module. Optics, optional uplink modules, cables and any separately ordered power or mounting items must be reconciled in the final bill of materials.

EX4300 architecture control

EX4300 procurement must treat chassis, power supplies, fans, uplink module and optics as one engineered assembly. Confirm which FRUs ship with the exact model and which are separate, then verify airflow labels across every fan and supply. Record built-in VCP-capable ports, optional uplink module, Junos release and Virtual Chassis role. The acceptance file must distinguish copper, fiber and multigigabit variants instead of using an EX4300 family checklist alone.

Order-form control 1

DC power acceptance requires two documented feed paths where redundancy is designed, correct protective devices, conductor sizing, polarity, grounding and terminal hardware. Measure input before connecting the switch, label each feed and test loss of the approved source. Do not install an AC supply or assume an AC cord is part of this order. Preserve the facility drawing and supply labels with the serial record.

Order-form control 2

AFI acceptance means air enters from the FRU side and exhausts through the port panel, also described as back-to-front airflow. Every installed fan and power supply must carry the matching AIR IN or AFI identity. Verify rack orientation and neighboring equipment before energizing, then record inlet temperature and photograph FRU labels. An AFO component is a blocked receiving exception.

Order-form control 3

The TAA suffix is part of the procurement identity. Keep the full PID unchanged through quote, purchase order, invoice, carton inspection and asset registration, and let the contracting authority decide eligibility. A base model, VC line or non-TAA substitute requires a new compliance review; technical equivalence alone does not preserve the purchasing requirement.

SKU-specific acceptance

For the DCI TAA line, do not expand the DCI token from memory; require the Juniper quotation to state power and airflow and preserve that evidence. Require the Juniper quote to explain DCI and list the exact supplied fan and power FRUs. Before rack placement, verify DC feed and observed airflow rather than expanding the suffix internally. The TAA evidence, feed test and rack-orientation approval must all point to the same serial and order line.

Virtual Chassis

Document member role, Junos release, VCP media, topology and rollback. A VC order qualifier or physical VCP does not remove software and compatibility checks.

TAA control

Keep the complete TAA-qualified order code on the quote, invoice, carton and asset record. Validate procurement eligibility with the contracting authority rather than a shortened base model.

PoE firmware

For multigigabit PoE platforms, verify Junos and PoE controller firmware before enabling higher-power modes. Test representative endpoints and record negotiated class.

Install base

Register additions and FRU changes under the correct support record. Keep serial, site, power, airflow and module inventory synchronized with the operational asset system.

Optics bill

List each optic, cable type, reach, connector and peer interface. Chassis port count does not include the transceivers needed for an operational link.

Power design

Confirm AC or DC input, feed count, connector or cord, supply wattage and redundancy target. The exact chassis suffix must agree with the facility design.
