EX4300-48T-AFI-TAA Hardware Identity

EX4300-48T-AFI-TAA is a Juniper EX4300 fixed-configuration Ethernet switch. Its verified hardware profile is 48 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports and four QSFP+ ports; no PoE on access ports. The complete code carries TAA procurement-qualified order suffix, airflow-in order form. Preserve every suffix on the quote, carton and asset record.

Port and power boundary

AC or DC supply according to exact SKU. The uplink configuration is optional four-port SFP+ uplink module. Optics, optional uplink modules, cables and any separately ordered power or mounting items must be reconciled in the final bill of materials.

EX4300 architecture control

EX4300 procurement must treat chassis, power supplies, fans, uplink module and optics as one engineered assembly. Confirm which FRUs ship with the exact model and which are separate, then verify airflow labels across every fan and supply. Record built-in VCP-capable ports, optional uplink module, Junos release and Virtual Chassis role. The acceptance file must distinguish copper, fiber and multigigabit variants instead of using an EX4300 family checklist alone.

AC power acceptance requires the supported input range, regional cord, receptacle, circuit capacity and selected supply wattage to be documented. Where redundant supplies are used, place them on the intended independent circuits and test loss of one feed. Do not substitute a DC chassis or mix supply wattage or airflow. Retain supply serials, cord type and circuit labels with commissioning evidence.

AFI acceptance means air enters from the FRU side and exhausts through the port panel, also described as back-to-front airflow. Every installed fan and power supply must carry the matching AIR IN or AFI identity. Verify rack orientation and neighboring equipment before energizing, then record inlet temperature and photograph FRU labels. An AFO component is a blocked receiving exception.

The TAA suffix is part of the procurement identity. Keep the full PID unchanged through quote, purchase order, invoice, carton inspection and asset registration, and let the contracting authority decide eligibility. A base model, VC line or non-TAA substitute requires a new compliance review; technical equivalence alone does not preserve the purchasing requirement.

SKU-specific acceptance

For the AFI TAA chassis, prove back-to-front airflow with matching fan and supply labels and keep the TAA chain attached to the same serial. Place the AFI chassis only where the FRU side receives conditioned air and the port side can exhaust freely. Photograph every AIR IN label, test both AC feeds and preserve the TAA chain. After cabling, compare inlet temperature with the rack baseline and correct blocked exhaust before traffic migration.

Receiving

Check chassis label, power supplies, fan labels, modules and accessories against the exact PID before installation. Quarantine mixed airflow or wrong-input substitutions.

Lifecycle

Review Juniper lifecycle and supported-release information before expanding an older platform. Tie spares and new capacity to a dated migration decision.

Migration evidence

Map VLANs, routing, policy, uplinks, PoE endpoints and monitoring dependencies to the successor design. Close old serials only after service and telemetry are verified.

Airflow match

Record rack cold aisle, intake side and exhaust side. Fan modules and power supplies must use the same airflow direction; a suffix mismatch is a receiving failure.

Junos baseline

Record the approved Junos release and hardware support evidence before staging. Preserve the initial configuration, rescue state and post-upgrade validation.

Uplink plan

Map every uplink speed, optic, breakout, LAG member and peer. Optional uplink modules and transceivers must appear as separate bill-of-material lines where required.
