EX4300-48P High-Density PoE+ Access Switch

EX4300-48P provides 48 built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports, all enabled for PoE+, plus four built-in 40GbE QSFP+ ports. Juniper ships this non-S model with two front-to-back fan modules and one 1100W AC power supply; it is not the component-excluded EX4300-48P-S form.

Forty-eight-port power design

Juniper's product table gives this model a 900W PoE budget and 30W-per-port PoE+ support. A full forty-eight-device plan must use measured endpoint demand, not simply multiply the maximum per-port figure. Reserve startup margin for phones, cameras and access points, and decide whether a second supply is needed for load sharing, redundancy or a larger available power budget.

Access and fabric capacity

The EX4300-48P is rated for 496Gbps switching and 369Mpps wire-speed throughput. Its four QSFP+ ports default to Virtual Chassis ports and can join as many as ten EX4300 members into one logical system. An optional EX-UM-4X4SFP module adds four 1/10GbE SFP/SFP+ uplinks; transceivers and the optional module require separate BOM lines.

Acceptance for a dense closet

Map every copper port to an endpoint class and expected watts, then verify total draw under failover conditions. Test the 1100W supply, both fans, front-to-back airflow, QSFP+ Virtual Chassis links and any optional uplink module. Confirm Junos release support, MACsec requirements and the final optics list before deployment.
