ASR1001-4XT3 is a physical ASR1001 system with four-port T3 IDC. Cisco's exact order description is “Cisco ASR1001 System, Crypto, 4 built-in GE, T3 IDC, Dual P/S.”

Verified hardware or bundle facts

Cisco describes this complete ASR1001 router as a crypto-capable system with four built-in Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, a T3 integrated daughter card and dual power supplies. The IDC provides four T3 ports.

What this PID does not mean

The 4XT3 suffix identifies factory-integrated WAN connectivity, not a loose SPA and not four additional Ethernet ports. The quotation must distinguish this chassis from a base ASR1001 plus separately ordered interface hardware.

Lifecycle decision

Cisco ended sale in 2013 and lists November 30, 2018 as the last support date for the affected 4XT3 systems. A current project must document why legacy T3 handoffs remain necessary and how they will migrate.

T3 circuit migration workbook

For each T3 port, record carrier, circuit ID, framing, clock source, encapsulation, routing peer, maintenance contact and business owner. Define the replacement Ethernet or packet-service handoff and a rollback checkpoint before moving any circuit.

Four-port T3 IDC validation

Verify the chassis PID, the physical T3 IDC faceplate, four T3 ports, four built-in GE interfaces and both power supplies. Bring up a controlled T3 test, check alarms and clocking, then retain interface counters and the IOS XE image used for the test.
