ASR1001-HDD is a physical ASR1001 system with integrated hard disk. Cisco's exact order description is “Cisco ASR1001 System, 4 built-in GE, HDD, Dual P/S.”

Verified hardware or bundle facts

Cisco identifies this as a complete ASR1001 router with four built-in Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, an HDD and dual power supplies. Cisco's migration description specifies that this ASR1001 variant used a 160 GB hard disk drive.

What this PID does not mean

This PID is not the later ASR1002-X hard-drive option and not a standalone disk. Receiving must match the ASR1001 chassis label and installed storage rather than accepting a loose HDD or a diskless ASR1001.

Lifecycle decision

Cisco ended sale in 2013 and lists November 30, 2018 as the last support date for this IDC/HDD group. Any unit now offered is lifecycle-stage equipment and requires an explicit reuse, migration and spares decision.

Local-storage recovery evidence

Inspect the drive with platform-supported diagnostics, confirm that IOS XE can access it, record capacity and health, and test the operational purpose for which local storage is required. Preserve configuration and required files outside the chassis because an old drive must not become the only recovery copy.

Photograph the chassis and storage state, boot the router, verify four built-in GE interfaces, inventory both power supplies and prove that the HDD is visible without file-system errors. Quarantine a diskless substitution or a separately supplied drive until the exact order identity is resolved.
