AIR-AP2802E-HK910C Overview

AIR-AP2802E-HK910C exact order identity

AIR-AP2802E-HK910C is a Cisco Aironet 2800 Series controller-based 802.11ac Wave 2 access point order. The exact line combines a 2802E indoor access point for external antennas, regulatory-domain token H, and a configurable ten-unit eco-pack.

Antenna boundary

Cisco documents four RP-TNC antenna connectors plus a Smart Antenna connector on the 2802E. Antennas are a separate engineered part of the deployment bill of materials. Before release, record each Cisco-supported antenna part number, connector use, gain, pattern, cable type, cable loss, mounting orientation and local approval. A connector fit alone does not establish RF performance or regulatory suitability.

Order-form boundary

Cisco's ordering convention uses K910C for a configurable ten-access-point eco-pack. Configuration selection and physical quantity are separate acceptance gates: the chosen domain must be approved and ten individual units must be reconciled. Retain the configured-domain evidence with the carton record, then create ten serial-level asset rows. Do not release a partial, mixed-domain or unconfigured carton to installation without a documented correction. Because this is a configurable line, purchasing must retain the finally selected domain on both the authorized quotation and received label. The carton is not the deployable asset: each of the ten access points needs its own serial, location, controller and acceptance result.

H regulatory-domain channel evidence

Cisco's 2800 Series data sheet lists the H profile as 2.4 GHz channels 1-13; 5 GHz blocks at 5.150-5.350 and 5.745-5.825 GHz. The H profile starts its lower 5 GHz range at 5.150 GHz and also provides a separated upper block. That lower boundary distinguishes it from nearby domain profiles.

Capture the controller's complete lower-range and upper-range channel output. Match it to the approved H-domain destination and investigate a template that begins at a different lower boundary. Regulatory-domain letters are identifiers, not country names; use Cisco's compliance tool for the actual deployment country and retain the lookup date.

Procurement inference: because the lower group begins below the more common 5.180 GHz boundary, country approval and controller output must be read together. Do not infer that every channel inside the numerical span is available at the destination. Preserve the exact enabled-channel export and associate post-install measurements with it so later troubleshooting can distinguish a regulatory change from an RF-performance change.

Deployment evidence worksheet

Ethernet and cabling proof

Preserve the permanent-link test, patch-lead identities, switch port, negotiated Ethernet rate and error counters. Investigate pair faults, excessive length or rate fallback before wireless acceptance begins. A link light only proves connectivity at some rate; it does not demonstrate the intended uplink performance. Tie the cable result to the AP serial so a later throughput problem can be separated from radio, controller and wired-path causes.

Quotation substitution gate

Compare antenna form, regulatory token, configuration suffix, pack quantity and complete Cisco part number on the authorized quotation. Treat any changed token as a substitution that requires a new technical and regulatory review. Procurement should not accept a nearby Aironet 2802 line merely because the family name matches. Preserve the approved line, received label and exception decision so the final asset can be traced to the exact order reviewed here.

Authentication path test

Commission representative clients through association, authentication, address assignment, DNS and application reachability. Preserve the identity policy used, test client type, result and relevant controller logs. An access point that joins its controller has not yet demonstrated the user path. Repeat the test after any controller, certificate or authentication-service change and retain failures separately from RF or switch-port evidence.

Monitoring handover

Assign owners for AP reachability, controller join failures, radio utilization, client health and switch-port errors. Confirm that the exact serial appears in inventory and monitoring, then test the alert path. Record dashboard object, notification route and escalation owner. Telemetry that is not tied to an owned asset does not provide a reliable service baseline and will not support later comparison after channel or software changes.

Security baseline

Retain the approved controller policy, management authorization, certificate or trust workflow, client authentication test and logging destination. Confirm behavior on the deployed controller software instead of promising a protocol from the hardware family name. Remove temporary onboarding access and verify administrative reachability after handover. This keeps product identity separate from software-dependent security claims.

Capacity observation

Define the expected concurrent clients, application mix, airtime utilization and channel-width assumptions for this location. After commissioning, capture radio utilization, retry behavior and representative throughput during a meaningful load period. Compare the observation with the survey design and state any shortfall. A peak link rate from a data sheet is not a site capacity result and should not replace measured operating evidence.

Receiving inspection

At receipt, compare model label, regulatory token, antenna form, quantity, serials and visible condition with the authorized order. Photograph labels before cartons are separated. Quarantine shortages, mixed units, damaged connectors or unapproved substitutions. Do not rely on a distributor description as evidence that the exact Cisco order arrived. Close the inspection only when every physical unit is accounted for.

Handover completeness

The handover package should include exact order identity, destination approval, serial record, controller evidence, switch port, mounting or antenna record, user-path tests and named operational owners. Review the package with the receiving team and list unresolved exceptions. A unit is not operationally accepted when important evidence remains only in installer notes, email attachments or an unowned temporary dashboard.
