AIR-AP1815W-A-K9C A-Domain Room-Network Record

AIR-AP1815W-A-K9C is the A-domain Mobility Express form of the Aironet 1815w. Its compact wall unit serves concurrent 2.4 and 5 GHz clients while presenting three local Gigabit ports for room devices, one passive cable pass-through and integrated antennas.

A-domain DFS exclusion

The A-domain table lists 2.412-2.462 GHz with eleven channels. At 5 GHz it lists 5.180-5.320 GHz with eight channels, 5.500-5.700 GHz with eight while excluding 5.600-5.640 GHz, and 5.745-5.825 GHz with five. Preserve that exclusion in the RF plan and verify current country approval.

Room-port segmentation

Document the VLAN, authentication, local-switching or tunnel behavior for each wired port before replacing a room AP. Test the phone, camera or user-device port independently and verify that the passive pass-through maps to the intended cable. A wireless-only acceptance test misses most of this model's procurement value.

Power budget and wall depth

When powered by 802.3at, the designated local port can supply 802.3af class 0. No PoE output is available with 802.3af input. Confirm switch power budget, downstream load and fault behavior. Check wall-box depth and order the AIR-AP1815W-KIT spacer/jumper separately when the site geometry requires it.

Software recovery and retirement

K9C denotes the configurable order with Mobility Express as default. Verify running software, regulatory country, primary failover and saved configuration. Cisco's exact A-domain lifecycle row directs migration toward Catalyst 9105AX and sets 30 April 2027 as last support. AIR-AP1815W-H-K9C must remain a separate regulatory inventory record.
