EX3400-48T-AFI Airflow-Specific Configuration

EX3400-48T-AFI has 48 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports and no PoE capability. The AFI suffix identifies back-to-front cooling: air enters at the rear and exits at the port side. This is the opposite direction from the standard EX3400-48T AFO configuration.

Uplinks and Virtual Chassis

Four front-panel uplinks accept 1G SFP or 10G SFP+ transceivers. Two rear 40G QSFP+ ports are configured as Virtual Chassis ports by default and can be changed to network ports. Juniper supports up to ten EX3400 members in a Virtual Chassis; ordinary 1G SFP transceivers cannot form that chassis link.

Power Matching

Juniper lists JPSU-150-AC-AFI as the default 150 W AC supply. It is labeled AIR IN and includes an internal fan for back-to-front airflow. A second compatible supply can be installed, and all replacement cooling components must preserve the AFI direction.

• Do not plan PoE endpoints on this model.
• Match AIR IN power and cooling components.
• Verify optics and whether QSFP+ ports remain VCPs or become network ports.
