EX3400-48P powered edge switch

EX3400-48P is the 48-port PoE/PoE+ member of Juniper's EX3400 family. Its main procurement requirement is the combination of high access-port density and endpoint power; it must not be evaluated as the non-PoE EX3400-48T.

PoE capacity planning

Inventory every access point, phone, camera and other powered device, including startup demand and priority. Confirm the installed power supply and the required failure behavior before committing capacity. Forty-eight PoE-capable ports do not mean every endpoint can draw its maximum power simultaneously.

Uplink and Virtual Chassis design

Document the four SFP/SFP+ and two QSFP+ port assignments, optics, fiber plant and any Virtual Chassis topology. Juniper supports a Virtual Chassis of up to ten EX3400 members, but software compatibility, cabling and operational roles still require an explicit design.

Receiving test

Match EX3400-48P on the chassis, inspect front-to-back airflow, boot the approved Junos release, and test representative PoE loads plus every required uplink speed. Confirm optics, licenses and support entitlement as separate quotation items.
