EX2300-C-12P-VC Powered Edge Switch

EX2300-C-12P-VC combines twelve 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE/PoE+ access ports, two 1/10GbE SFP/SFP+ uplinks and the EX2300 Virtual Chassis license in a compact fanless chassis. The two optical uplinks can connect upstream or operate as Virtual Chassis links; optics are separate purchase items.

Endpoint power plan

This model has a fixed 170W AC power supply and a 124W aggregate PoE budget. Build the port schedule from actual access-point, camera, phone and sensor loads, including startup demand. Twelve ports supporting PoE+ does not mean twelve endpoints can each consume the maximum standard allowance at the same time.

Quiet-location deployment

The fanless chassis weighs about 6.99lb (3.17kg) and uses one rack unit when rack-mounted. It can also be placed on a surface or installed with separately ordered Juniper mounting accessories. Confirm ventilation, grounding and physical security when the switch sits in an office, classroom, hospitality or retail area rather than a locked wiring closet.

Virtual Chassis acceptance

The -VC suffix identifies the included paper license, not a second switch or included optical cables. Up to four EX2300-C members can operate as one logical device. Before handover, record the primary and backup member roles, cable both Virtual Chassis paths, verify Junos version consistency and test local switching during a member-link interruption.
