FC-10-0401E-288-02-DD Network Monitor Identity

FC-10-0401E-288-02-DD is the SD-WAN Network Monitor entitlement for one existing FortiGate 401E. It enables Fortinet-hosted underlay bandwidth and quality tests; it does not include a firewall appliance, carrier circuit, Overlay-as-a-Service or managed network operation.

Service Scope

Fortinet maps service code 288 to SD-WAN underlay bandwidth and quality monitoring. Supported workflows can measure upstream and downstream capacity and use results as references for interface estimated bandwidth, traffic shaping and SD-WAN policy decisions. Test availability and limits depend on FortiOS and the registered entitlement.

Before activation, match the serial and FortiCloud account, verify FortiOS support, identify every WAN member and establish a non-disruptive test schedule. Results must be reviewed alongside latency, jitter, loss, carrier commitments and application behavior before configuration values change.

Platform Test Plan

The platform token 0401E maps to a storage-equipped E-series mid-range SD-WAN edge. Capture the 401E serial, SSD health, HA peer, WAN members, carrier rates, existing shaping, test schedule and cloud or central export.

Use local history to distinguish a persistent circuit issue from a one-time test anomaly. Changes to interface estimates require the carrier record, raw result, requester and review date.

Retest both directions, verify policy selection, local logging, central export and HA. Security and network owners independently approve automated value changes.

For the 401E, preserve the raw speed-test event locally before applying any measured-upstream or measured-downstream value. Compare it with carrier counters and at least one normal-period sample. If a result changes shaping, record the exact configuration revision and rollback threshold. The evidence owner verifies SSD retention while the network owner validates application behavior and HA.

Term Evidence

The DD suffix follows the validity period authorized on the quote. Preserve exact start and end dates, serial, account, region and co-termination terms.
