FC-10-0401E-179-02-DD Procurement Record

FC-10-0401E-179-02-DD is the historical per-device FortiManager Cloud subscription for one existing FortiGate 401E. It provided cloud-based central management and orchestration; it did not include the firewall appliance, security subscriptions, managed operations or replacement hardware.

Platform Migration

For the 401E, inventory shared policy objects and device-specific settings separately. The replacement subscription must preserve ownership of routing, VPN, HA and security-policy changes while preventing a global package from overwriting local exceptions. Use a staging ADOM or equivalent controlled scope, preview the installation delta, apply one reversible object update and inspect the resulting revision. Approval requires a named package owner, exception register, maintenance window and tested recovery path.

The 401E review emphasizes blast radius. Label objects that are safe to share, objects that are site-owned and objects that require application approval. Preview a package containing one example of each, then verify the manager blocks or flags the inappropriate global change. The evidence should show that policy reuse does not erase accountability for a high-impact site exception.

EOL/EOO Boundary

Fortinet states that the FC-[model]-179-02-DD individual FortiGate subscription family is EOL/EOO. Current procurement uses capacity-based multi-device subscriptions, so a buyer must size managed devices or VDOMs and confirm the FortiCare account, region and migration path instead of ordering this old SKU as if it were current.

• Confirm appliance serial, FortiOS, FortiCare account, region, device or VDOM capacity and current replacement SKU.
• Back up configuration and inventory policy packages, local exceptions, scripts, administrator roles and revision history.
• Preview and test one reversible change, local result, audit trail, rollback and cloud-outage procedure.
• Record configuration authority, approvers, emergency access, unsupported items and migration acceptance.
