Record the actual 802.3af, 802.3at or DC input after all planned radios and services are active, including any reduced-feature indication. Fortinet documents reduced function under 802.3af and full operation under 802.3at or DC, so an idle boot is not a full-power test.
State whether the third radio provides 6 GHz access, a second 5 GHz service or scanning, and retain the live configuration and channel result. The accepted record should show enabled radio purpose, band, channel width and representative client result after automatic radio changes settle.
Use Fortinet's current compatibility matrix to select matched FortiAP and FortiOS releases and retain the tested upgrade and rollback path. If versions differ, document the verified lowest-common feature set and the reason rather than silently relying on an unsupported combination.
Assign owners for AP authorization, radio health, Ethernet errors, client experience and software advisories, then test alert delivery. Telemetry without a mapped serial and escalation owner is not a supportable operational baseline.
Inventory management, licenses, switch power, cabling, antenna, mounting and monitoring dependencies before replacing the AP. A replacement decision must cover the surrounding platform and RF design, not only the access-point chassis.
