FAP-231G-D Overview
Internal-antenna Wi-Fi 6E access point
Fortinet FAP-231G-D is the internal-antenna member of the FAP-23xG pair. It combines three 2x2 Wi-Fi 6E service radios for 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz with four internal Wi-Fi antennas and a separate internal BLE antenna.
Use it where integrated antenna patterns fit the survey
The FAP-231G avoids external antenna selection and cable-loss calculations. Placement, ceiling height, mounting orientation and local 6 GHz rules still need to be validated in the predictive design and onsite survey; the access point model alone does not guarantee coverage.
Switch-port and power planning
The hardware provides one 100/1000/2500BASE-T port and one 10/100/1000BASE-T port. Default PoE input is IEEE 802.3at. Confirm the switch can supply the required power and multigigabit negotiation, and verify whether the second Ethernet interface is used in the approved topology.
