Identify the 32-port N3100-ON access layout

Dell N3132PX-ON combines twenty-four 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports with eight multi-gigabit RJ45 ports supporting 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps. It is an N3100-ON platform, not a 48-port N3000E switch. Separate the two copper port groups when assigning endpoints.

Keep negotiation enabled on the multi-gigabit ports

Dell requires auto-negotiation on the NBASE-T interfaces; fixed-speed mode does not operate correctly. The copper ports operate full duplex. Confirm endpoint capabilities and cabling before allocating the eight multi-gigabit connections; a 5 Gbps-capable port does not guarantee every attached device will connect at that speed.

Choose a consistent uplink transceiver type

Four SFP+ uplink ports support SFP+ or SFP transceivers, but the guide prohibits mixing the two types simultaneously in this group. The rear expansion slot accepts a two-port 40G QSFP+ module or a two-port 21G stacking module. Specify the required module and media separately; an expansion option does not establish inclusion in the offered unit.

Verify endpoint power against the fitted supplies

The front copper ports have a documented 60 W PoE capability. Available aggregate PoE power still depends on the actual supply configuration and system requirements. Request the installed supply inventory and calculate the endpoint budget instead of treating a per-port capability as a guaranteed total.
