Ten vertical slots with separate supervisor positions

N7K-C7010 is the Cisco Nexus 7000 ten-slot chassis. Eight positions accept I/O modules and two are dedicated to supervisors. Cisco includes fan trays in this base order but no power supplies. A complete system proposal should list the actual supervisor, fabric, line-card and power configuration separately.

Match the cooling path to the aisle layout

This enclosure uses front-to-back airflow, unlike the side-to-side eighteen-slot platform. It has separate system and fabric fan trays. When replacing a chassis in an existing rack, verify unobstructed intake and exhaust paths, the required fan assemblies and the actual electrical load rather than selecting solely by the number of module slots.

Allow access on both sides of the installation

The front provides access to I/O and supervisor modules. Fabric modules, power supplies and fan trays are reached from the back. Capture the installed fabric and line-card part numbers and the intended NX-OS release for compatibility review; the chassis PID does not establish a port count, forwarding capacity or software entitlement.

Use the base-chassis retirement notice

The N7K-C7010 notice sets February 28, 2022 as end of sale and February 28, 2027 as the last support date. New service attachment closed February 28, 2023, followed by contract renewal on May 29, 2026. Assess existing entitlement and a migration plan before ordering a legacy replacement. Do not substitute the different Cisco ONE bundle lifecycle for this base PID.
