IE-2000U-4TS-G Copper-to-Fiber Edge Switch

IE-2000U-4TS-G provides four 10/100BASE-T copper ports and two 100/1000Mb/s SFP slots. This combination differs from the all-fiber IE-2000U-4S-G and the larger dual-purpose IE-2000U-16TC-G.

Use-case boundary

The four access ports are Fast Ethernet, not Gigabit Ethernet and not PoE. Confirm endpoint speed, copper distance and connector requirements. For each uplink, validate the supported SFP, fiber plant, wavelength and optical budget; the switch PID does not include an arbitrary optic.

Redundancy limitation

Cisco groups IE-2000U-4TS-G with the six-port SKUs that do not support Parallel Redundancy Protocol. If PRP is a mandatory utility-network requirement, stop the purchase and choose a platform and fixed interface mapping shown as supported in Cisco's PRP table.

Power and enclosure review

The fanless industrial platform relies on correct enclosure airflow and ambient limits. Document DC-A/DC-B feed design, protective grounding, alarm contact use, DIN-rail spacing and cable service loops. Dual power inputs should be tested independently when the site design uses both.

End-of-sale migration

This PID reached end of sale on July 26, 2024, with last support scheduled for July 31, 2029. Cisco references IE-3100-4T2S-E as a migration option; compare media type, speed, software and physical installation rather than treating it as the same six-port switch.
