IE-2000U-16TC-G Twenty-Port Industrial Switch

IE-2000U-16TC-G has 16 10/100BASE-T ports, two Gigabit Ethernet dual-purpose ports and two Fast Ethernet dual-purpose ports. A dual-purpose pair allows the documented copper or SFP interface choice; it does not provide two simultaneously active interfaces for each logical port.

Timing and redundancy

Cisco lists this model with IEEE 1588 support. Its PRP guide permits two fixed PRP channel groups: the two GE interfaces form one channel and the FE 0/17-0/18 pair forms the other. Validate the intended IOS image and configuration against the exact release before relying on these functions.

Port and media acceptance

Record which side of every dual-purpose interface will be used, then match copper cabling and supported SFPs. This SKU is not the conformal-coated -X variant and not the PoE -GP model. Do not infer coating or endpoint power from the common 16TC family name.

Industrial power plan

Review DC-A and DC-B feeds, grounding, alarm contacts, surge/environment requirements and enclosure heat flow. The switch is fanless, so maintain Cisco's spacing and ambient limits. Test each approved power path and alarm state during commissioning.

Lifecycle and migration

Cisco ended sale on July 26, 2024 and schedules last support for July 31, 2029. Its notice references IE-3100-18T2C-E and selected IE3400 options. Compare the legacy FE/GE mix, fixed PRP mapping, software features and physical interfaces before choosing a replacement.
