C9115AXI-EWC-B identifies an indoor Catalyst 9115 with integrated antennas, AP-hosted Embedded Wireless Controller software and the -B regulatory domain. It is different from the non-EWC C9115AXI-B, even though both share the B domain.

Do not collapse EWC and CAPWAP orders

The EWC segment records the factory software/order intent. Inspect the installed image and operating mode because field inventory may have been converted. Preserve the current controller configuration before resetting or changing software.

Lifecycle decision for a new rollout

The EWC order passed end of sale on November 29, 2024; Cisco names 17.15.x as the last EWC-supporting IOS XE train. Decide whether to retain EWC through its support horizon or convert the APs to a supported external-controller architecture.
