C9115AXI-B is the internal-antenna, -B regulatory-domain Catalyst 9115 standard AP order. It is not the EWC PID C9115AXI-EWC-B; controller software mode must be established from the installed image and deployment records.

Check Cisco Field Notice FN72278

Cisco lists C9115AXI-B among products affected by a boot failure condition that can display an uncorrectable ECC error and recommends a BIOS/firmware upgrade. Match serial and installed firmware to the notice's validation procedure before accepting used inventory.

Boot success is not enough

Perform multiple controlled power cycles, review console output and crash history, then document BIOS, AP image and upgrade evidence. A single successful boot does not close the field-notice risk.

Internal Wi-Fi 6 RF profile

The AP supports 4x4 operation with four spatial streams and uses integrated omnidirectional antennas. Verify the site survey, ceiling orientation and both radio chains; external antenna gain and cable-loss calculations do not apply to this AXI model.

PoE acceptance under load

Use 802.3at to retain 4x4 radios, 2.5G link and USB. Explicitly reject unintended 802.3af reduced mode when the capacity plan assumes full features, and record negotiated power from both switch and AP.

B-domain and controller join

Confirm B-domain legality for the installation country, permitted country code and target-controller release. Capture exact PID/serial, field-notice status, PoE/link, radio health and controller join in the handover report.
