EX4300-24P Compact PoE+ Wiring-Closet Switch

EX4300-24P combines 24 PoE+-capable 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with four built-in 40GbE QSFP+ interfaces in a 1U chassis. The standard EX4300-24P includes two AIR OUT fans and one 715W AC supply; the similar EX4300-24P-S requires fans and power supplies to be ordered separately.

Twenty-four-endpoint power plan

The official product table lists a 550W PoE budget for this SKU. Use a per-device worksheet for wireless access points, surveillance endpoints and voice devices, including cold-start demand and future additions. The smaller access-port count can simplify closet cabling, but redundancy design still determines whether a second hot-swappable supply belongs in the BOM.

Uplink and stack role

Juniper rates the 24-port platform at 448Gbps and 333Mpps. The built-in QSFP+ interfaces can carry network traffic or operate as Virtual Chassis ports; they are VCPs by default. For dispersed closets, document which ports form the Virtual Chassis and whether the optional EX-UM-4X4SFP module is needed for four additional 1/10GbE optical uplinks.

Commissioning evidence

Verify all twenty-four copper links, classify the attached PoE loads and retain the measured aggregate draw. Check airflow direction, fan FRUs, supply serials and graceful Routing Engine switchover if the switch joins a Virtual Chassis. Do not copy a 48-port power budget or patch schedule onto this model.
