EX2300-24MP Overview
Put multigigabit endpoints on the right ports
Only access positions 0–7 provide 2.5 Gbps on EX2300-24MP. Positions 8–23 are Gigabit Ethernet. Allocate faster access points or other compatible endpoints to that eight-port group; this is not a 24-port all-multigigabit design.
Budget power separately from link speed
All 24 access ports support PoE/PoE+, sharing 380 W. Juniper lists 55 W maximum system consumption excluding the PoE load. Check the combined endpoint demand rather than assuming every port can supply its individual maximum simultaneously.
Plan uplinks and installation
Four SFP/SFP+ ports accept supported 1G/10G connections; optics are separate. Ports assigned to Virtual Chassis interconnection are not simultaneously available as ordinary uplinks. This model has three fans and side-to-side airflow, so it must not be specified as a silent fanless compact switch. Confirm the needed software entitlement and actual supplied accessories in the quotation.
