Count logical ports, not all front-panel sockets

Huawei S5700-28X-LI-24S-AC, part code 02355271, is the AC-powered S5700-LI switch with 20 dedicated 100/1000BASE-X optical ports, four copper/fiber combo ports and four 10GE SFP+ uplinks. Each combo pair is one logical interface: its copper and fiber sides cannot operate together. A design that counts both sides as independent ports would overstate usable connectivity. The four uplinks can also be reused for service-port stacking, so stacking consumes those same uplink resources.

AC mains and external backup serve different roles

The chassis has one built-in power supply and does not accept removable power modules. Rated input is 100–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz; the maximum specified input range is 90–264 V AC at 47–63 Hz. An external RPS1800 is supported for backup, but its presence and cable must be confirmed separately. Huawei explicitly states that the RPS cable is not hot-swappable. This AC model is distinct from the S5700-28X-LI-24S-DC, and neither the shared port layout nor an RPS socket makes their primary inputs interchangeable.

Reserve airflow clearance and exclude PoE loads

Two internal fans move air from left to right. The enclosure measures 442 x 220 x 43.6 mm; the listed 3.5 kg includes packaging. Maximum consumption is 60 W at full traffic with fans at full speed. This model does not supply PoE, so the switch budget cannot be used as a power source for attached phones or access points. Operation is specified at 0 to 45 degrees Celsius up to 1800 m; above that altitude, the upper limit falls by 1 degree per 220 m, with a 5000 m operating ceiling in the AC record.

Match software and optics before an expansion

The hardware guide lists V200R003C00 through V200R012C00 with exclusions: V200R003C02, V200R003C10, V200R005C00SPC500, V200R005C01, V200R005C02, V200R005C03 and V200R007C10. Treat this as a documented compatibility range, not a current support entitlement. For upgrades or spares, confirm the exact running release, required features and lifecycle support separately. Select optics and cables against the port and software-specific support rows rather than assuming any SFP-shaped module will work. Mini USB and RJ-45 console are management connections; Mini USB takes precedence when both are connected.
