Size the PoE load for the actual power configuration

Huawei S5700S-28P-PWR-LI-AC, ordering code 98010562, has 24 Gigabit PoE+ copper access ports. Without an external RPS, Huawei lists 369.6 W of available PoE power: enough for 24 ports at 15.4 W or 12 ports at 30 W under the documented full-power cases. A 24-port PoE+ label therefore does not promise 30 W on every port from the built-in supply. Add the intended access-point, phone or camera loads and leave room for their actual negotiation and project requirements.

External RPS changes the documented power budget

The manufacturer lists 800 W of available PoE power with the external RPS configuration and support for 24 ports at 30 W. This is a conditional configuration, not the standalone switch budget and not a promise that an RPS is included in the price. The chassis contains one fixed power supply and supports RPS1800 backup; it does not take pluggable PSU modules. The RPS interface separates system-power and PoE-power inputs, and its cable is not hot-swappable. Verify the external unit, installed power capacity and correct cable before relying on the larger budget.

Gigabit uplinks and stacking have specific limits

In addition to the 24 access ports, the switch has two dedicated 1000BASE-X optical interfaces and two copper/fiber combo interfaces. Each combo interface has one active medium at a time. The two non-combo optical uplinks are reused for service-port stacking. Certain SFP+ or AOC cables in the guide are supported only for stacking; their connector format does not turn this model into a switch with general-purpose 10GE service uplinks. Confirm modules against the exact interface and software release.

Distinguish PoE output from total input consumption

At full traffic and fan speed, the hardware table lists 45.8 W without PoE and 469.7 W at the documented PoE full load, comprising 100.1 W device consumption and 369.6 W PoE output. These are separate operating conditions, not interchangeable power budgets. Rated input is 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz. Two internal fans exhaust from left to right in a 442 x 310 x 43.6 mm enclosure. The 5.8 kg figure includes packaging. Operation is 0–50 degrees Celsius up to 1800 m, with the upper limit reduced by 1 degree per 220 m above that elevation to 5000 m. Huawei documents software support from V200R008C00 through V200R012C00; verify current lifecycle and service entitlement separately.
