S1730S-L4P4T-MA Mixed PoE and Data Switch

S1730S-L4P4T-MA combines four P-designated PoE-capable copper interfaces with four T-designated non-PoE copper interfaces. This mixed layout is the key purchasing distinction: only the intended P ports should be assigned to powered endpoints.

Separate the endpoint classes

Place cameras, access points or phones on the four PoE ports and reserve the four data-only ports for routers, recorders, controllers or other self-powered devices. Label both groups in the cable schedule so a later move does not silently remove endpoint power.

Budget four powered devices

Record the 802.3af/at class and worst-case draw of every powered endpoint. Verify the exact switch power budget and AC supply against simultaneous startup and operating loads; never infer total available watts from the number of P ports alone.

Compact-site installation

Confirm grounding, ventilation, mounting method, regional power cord and surge environment. Capture the MA software build and test the management functions needed at the branch, cabinet or small surveillance location.

Receiving checks

Verify the L4P4T-MA suffix, identify the four PoE and four non-PoE positions, test link and power negotiation separately, and record serial, software and remaining PoE headroom.
