S1730S-L4P4T-A Mixed PoE and Data Layout

S1730S-L4P4T-A has four PoE+ 10/100/1000BASE-T interfaces and four non-PoE 10/100/1000BASE-T interfaces. Huawei documents a built-in AC power module and fanless natural cooling, making the port split and installation environment central to correct deployment.

Keep powered and self-powered devices separate

Assign 802.3af/at access points, cameras or phones to the four P ports and place routers, recorders or other self-powered devices on the four T ports. Label both groups so later patching does not move a powered endpoint onto a data-only interface.

Known PoE capacity

Huawei specifies 124 W available for PoE and full 802.3af/at power on all four PoE ports. Validate each attached device class and preserve operating margin; non-standard PD detection depends on the documented compatibility-check mode and should be tested with the actual endpoint.

Fanless cabinet planning

The switch uses natural cooling and has no fan. Maintain airflow around the 43.6 x 250 x 180 mm basic chassis, provide grounding and surge protection, and avoid a sealed cabinet even when silent operation is required.

Acceptance

Confirm Huawei part number 98010893, identify both four-port groups, test PoE and data-only links independently, and record the serial, power mode, endpoint load and supplied AC accessories.
