AirEngine 6760-X1 uses built-in smart antennas

Huawei AirEngine 6760-X1 is the integrated-antenna member of the 6760-X1 family. Its built-in smart antennas make it different from the X1E external-antenna model and affect survey assumptions, mounting location and coverage acceptance.

Base capability versus licensed upgrade

The AP provides ten spatial streams by default: 4x4:4 at 2.4 GHz and 6x6:6 at 5 GHz, with a published base maximum rate of 8.35 Gbit/s. Huawei states that twelve streams and 10.75 Gbit/s require an RTU software license. Confirm the license state before using the upgraded figure in capacity planning.

Integrated-antenna placement

Survey the intended ceiling or wall location using the X1 antenna pattern and keep the AP clear of metal obstructions, service fixtures and dense cable bundles. The integrated design avoids separate RF cable and antenna selection, but it does not remove the need to validate orientation, channel plan, interference and edge-of-cell performance.

Flexible wired uplinks

Huawei provides 10GE electrical, GE electrical and 10GE SFP+ interfaces. Select copper or optical backhaul according to distance, available switching ports and grounding design, and verify the chosen transceiver and software release. Project optics and cabling are separate unless listed on the quotation.

Acceptance record

Match the chassis label to AirEngine 6760-X1, record part number and software, verify RTU state, power source, uplink negotiation, BLE/IoT requirements and controller adoption, then retain survey measurements for the built-in antenna deployment.
