Three-Year FortiGate 51G Enterprise Hardware Bundle

FG-51G-BDL-809-36 is an appliance bundle containing a storage-equipped FortiGate 51G and 36 months of Enterprise Protection. Fortinet's Secure LAN ordering guide identifies code 809 as the Enterprise bundle for this platform. The FG-51G-BDL prefix means that new physical hardware is part of the order; it is not an FC service renewal for an appliance already owned.

Use the first year to establish control ownership

Enterprise Protection adds data, SaaS, device and attack-surface controls beyond a UTP deployment. Before activation, assign owners for DLP policy, inline SaaS decisions, IoT visibility, malware response and risk findings. Decide which events remain on the 51G local storage and which are forwarded to a central analytics platform.

Commission the appliance and entitlement together

Confirm the ship-to region, power accessories, FortiOS baseline, WAN and LAN handoffs, inspected-traffic target, VPN requirements and registration account. At acceptance, record the hardware serial and service dates, verify entitlement status, test the intended inspection policies and prove that security and system logs reach their approved destinations.

Three-year evidence cycle

Review policy effectiveness, false positives, storage consumption, update health and capacity after deployment and at least annually. In the final year, compare renewal with a platform or bundle change using observed traffic, data-protection and SaaS requirements rather than waiting for the contract to expire.

Ordering boundary

The final authorized quote controls exact regional hardware, included subscriptions and activation dates. Do not substitute a code 950 UTP bundle when the design requires Enterprise controls, and do not use an FC-only line when a new 51G appliance is required.
