Three-Year FortiGate Change-Control Operating Model

FC-10-F50G5-660-02-36 provides three years of Managed FortiGate Service for one eligible FortiGate 50G-5G. Fortinet NOC specialists perform supported setup and approved network or policy changes through the managed service. The customer retains architecture, business context and change-approval responsibility.

Year one: migrate management deliberately

Reconcile current FortiManager, cloud management, automation and direct access with the exclusive managed model. Register the correct serial and FortiCloud account, assign portal roles, submit onboarding and preserve a post-migration baseline. Test standard and emergency request paths.

Year two: standardize recurring changes

Build request templates for common objects, VPNs, routing, WAN/5G failover and policy updates. Specify prerequisites, validation and rollback. Review rejected or repeated tickets to improve architecture and documentation instead of treating each request as unrelated work.

Year three: measure and decide

Analyze lead time, approval delay, rollback frequency, drift and open requests. Reassess device lifecycle, firmware plan, HA licensing and business ownership before renewal. Confirm that internal teams still understand which changes belong in the service and which remain customer projects.

Preserve separation of duties

Maintain administrators, initiators and approvers, remove departed users and test backups. Keep request, approval, implementation and rollback records where audit or troubleshooting requires them.

Commercial boundary

One entitlement covers one managed FortiGate. No appliance, RMA, SOC alert triage, unlimited project work or authority to approve business-impacting changes is included.
