Align entitlement with the plant roadmap

Compare the end date with equipment obsolescence, line upgrades, site closure, FortiOS support and firewall replacement. Record which production cells and remote facilities depend on the registered serial. Confirm RMA and transfer rules in writing before a long-term commitment.

Maintain a vulnerability-shield register

For each virtual patch, preserve the vulnerable asset, vendor advisory, FortiGuard control, enforcement point, validation result and permanent-remediation plan. Review the register during approved outages. A compensating signature must not silently become the only long-term treatment.
