One-Year Filtering Policy Validation for FortiGate 50G-5G

FC-10-F50G5-112-02-12 is a 12-month FortiGuard URL, DNS and Video Filtering entitlement for one eligible FortiGate 50G-5G. It supplies categorization and filtering services to supported policies. It does not include the appliance, cellular airtime, IPS, antivirus, sandbox, DLP or FortiCare.

Define three related control paths

Document web categories, DNS protections and supported video controls separately. Assign owners for uncategorized destinations, rating disputes and temporary exceptions. Confirm FortiGuard rating connectivity on both wired WAN and 5G failover so a transport change does not create an unreviewed policy path.

Test business and user outcomes

Validate representative allow, monitor and block actions, malicious-domain handling, replacement messages and exception workflow. Check encrypted traffic and supported video inspection requirements on the deployed FortiOS release. Give business applications evidence-based exceptions rather than broad category bypasses.

Use the first year to remove policy noise

Review override requests, category changes, DNS events, blocked destinations, stale exceptions and false positives. Repeat tests after FortiOS, DNS architecture or certificate changes. Before month 12, decide whether standalone filtering remains appropriate or should be consolidated into a broader bundle.

Keep the exact SKU, serial, account, region, activation and expiry dates, policy owners and accepted tests. Hardware, mobile service, malware protection, IPS, support and RMA require separately verified lines.
