Five-Year IPS Lifecycle Commitment for FortiGate 50G-5G

FC-10-F50G5-108-02-60 is a 60-month FortiGuard Intrusion Prevention Service entitlement for one eligible FortiGate 50G-5G. The long term reduces commercial renewal events, but it does not guarantee that the device, traffic profile or inspection design will remain suitable for five years. No appliance or cellular plan is included.

Validate asset life before order release

Compare the subscription end date with the branch lease, appliance deployment date, expected bandwidth, 5G use, software roadmap and replacement budget. Confirm the registered serial and obtain written guidance for RMA or transfer scenarios; unused entitlement must not be assumed to move automatically to another model.

Run annual IPS governance without annual renewal

Every year, reconcile enabled sensors, signature filters, overrides, bypass rules, update status, encrypted-inspection dependencies and high-severity findings. Repeat representative tests after upgrades. Record whether both primary WAN and cellular failover traffic still traverse the intended protection path.

Perform a midterm capacity gate

Measure inspection latency, event volume, memory and CPU headroom under current traffic. Review whether new applications or encryption patterns require different controls. A prepaid term should not postpone a necessary platform or architecture change.

Plan the final-year transition

Export sensor, override and evidence records, remove obsolete exceptions and arrange renewal or migration before expiry. Preserve the exact SKU, serial, account, region, 60-month dates and accepted test set. Antivirus, sandbox, web/DNS filtering, support and RMA are independent lines.
