N9K-C9508-B1 is a populated Nexus 9508 chassis starter bundle. Cisco's supported-hardware table identifies one supervisor module, three power supplies, two system controllers, three fan trays and three fabric modules. The eight line-card slots remain a separate design choice; no line card should be represented as included unless the quote lists its exact PID.

Use B1 as a defined starting configuration

Three installed fabric modules distinguish B1 from the six-fabric-module B2 package. Before purchase, capture the exact fabric-module generation and confirm that all three are the same supported type for the intended line cards and NX-OS or ACI release. Calculate slot bandwidth and failure-state capacity from that actual combination rather than from the chassis headline maximum.

Power and control-plane acceptance

Reconcile the single supervisor, both system controllers, all three power supplies and all three fan trays by PID, serial and airflow. Test controller health, fan and PSU alarms, management access and supervisor boot stability. Because the bundle lists one supervisor, a redundant second supervisor is a separately verified requirement, not an assumed inclusion.

Expansion gate

The 13RU chassis offers eight line-card slots and supports up to six fabric modules, but those limits do not mean B1 is fully populated.
