N9K-C9332PQ 40G Port Architecture

N9K-C9332PQ is a fixed 1RU Nexus 9300 platform with 32 40-Gigabit QSFP+ interfaces. Cisco's NX-OS hardware guide presents all 32 physical interfaces as 40G ports. In ACI mode, Cisco documents 26 APIC-facing downlink ports and six spine-facing uplink ports, so the intended operating mode must be established before a topology or port map is approved.

Breakout and Management Interfaces

In ACI mode, ports 1 through 12 and 15 through 26 support 40G-to-4x10G Dynamic Breakout beginning with the Cisco release stated in the official guide. The chassis also has one 100/1000 management interface, one RS-232 console interface and two USB ports. Optics, adapters and breakout cables must be checked against Cisco's compatibility table and the selected software release.

Power, Fans and Airflow

Cisco specifies four field-replaceable fan modules and two power-supply positions for 1+1 redundancy. Supported choices include 650 W AC and 930 W DC options. All installed fan and power modules must use the same airflow direction, making the port-side intake or exhaust suffix a required procurement check.
