C9600-SUP-1 Overview
C9600-SUP-1 Chassis Role
C9600-SUP-1 installs in dedicated supervisor slots 3 or 4 of the six-slot C9606R chassis. The chassis supports redundant supervisors. It is a control and switching module, not a complete switch, line card, power supply or software entitlement.
Capacity and Platform Resources
Cisco publishes up to 9.6 Tbps aggregate system switching capacity and up to 2.4 Tbps aggregate per line-card slot, equivalent to 4.8 Tbps and 1.2 Tbps full-duplex respectively. The supervisor uses three UADP 3.0 ASICs, forwards up to 3 Bpps and includes 16 GB DRAM and 16 GB flash.
Line-Card Compatibility Boundary
Compatibility is supervisor-specific. C9600-LC-48S is supported only with Supervisor 1, while newer C9600X line cards are not supported. Other shared line cards have explicit minimum IOS XE releases. The order must validate every line card, optics set, software release, power design and redundancy requirement against the C9600-SUP-1 matrix.
- Install only in C9606R supervisor slot 3 or 4.
