Check 1GE optics and the deployed software together
Cisco lists SFP-1G-SX and SFP-1G-LH for 1GE operation with C9600X-SUP-2. IOS XE 17.14.1 release notes explicitly introduce these optics for this linecard and supervisor combination. Card compatibility alone does not establish support for an arbitrary optic, adapter or full-port 1GE population; check the release-specific matrix for the proposed configuration.
MACsec is not available with every supervisor
The manufacturer data sheet explicitly excludes MACsec on this linecard when used with C9600X-SUP-2. If link encryption is a requirement, validate the complete supervisor, linecard and software design before ordering. A higher supported port rate does not imply that every security feature remains available.
