C9115AXI-T: Taiwan model and deployment boundaries

C9115AXI-T is the domain-T Catalyst 9115AXI controller-based access point. Cisco identifies AXI as the integrated-antenna form, with published peak gain of 3 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 4 dBi at 5 GHz.

Why the exact T variant matters

Cisco's installation guide, updated 19 March 2025, explicitly names C9115AXI-T and C9115AXE-T in its Taiwan regulatory section. AXI uses integrated antennas; AXE is the external-antenna form. The two share the regional suffix but require different antenna plans. The guide is a useful exact-model reference, rather than a present-day approval certificate. Verify current authorization for the destination and the label on the delivered unit.

The Taiwan section says that type-approved equipment must not have its frequencies, power or original functions altered. It also requires operation to stop if harmful interference occurs until the interference is cleared, and specifies indoor operation for the 5.25-5.35 GHz band. Retain the country setting and planned channel configuration in the installation record; do not copy another country's radio configuration merely because its access point is also a 9115. Power and Ethernet states

Under 802.3at, Cisco documents both radios at 4x4, 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet and USB; the published maximum is 20.4W for AXI. Under 802.3af, both radios reduce to 2x2, Ethernet reduces to 1G and USB is disabled. The same reduced state is documented above 40 C ambient.

Regulatory and lifecycle gate

The final T is a regulatory-domain token. Verify the exact PID for the destination with Cisco compliance data. Cisco's current hardware lifecycle bulletin gives affected Catalyst 9115 orders a last-order date of 2026-12-31 and last-support date of 2031-12-31; plan migration using the matching 9174I antenna form.

Controller procurement boundary

This PID has no EWC infix, so it is not evidence of an AP-hosted Embedded Wireless Controller image. Record the target WLC release, entitlement, successful CAPWAP join and recovery test.
