C1-ASR1004/K9 Cisco ONE Ordering Identity

C1-ASR1004/K9 is Cisco's Cisco ONE hardware PID for the ASR 1004 chassis with IP Base, APIC-EM and APIs. The `C1-` prefix is commercially significant: this page is not a duplicate listing for the base ASR1004 chassis PID.

Cisco ONE software boundary

Cisco states that Cisco ONE comprises hardware and software PIDs. After selecting a hardware PID beginning with `C1-`, the buyer configures the applicable Foundation and/or AUC software suite. Record the software PID, Smart Account or entitlement destination, license term and support coverage separately; the chassis line alone does not prove that every Cisco ONE suite or feature right is included.

Hardware configuration still required

The ASR 1004 is a modular platform. Confirm the exact route processor, Embedded Services Processor, SIP or Ethernet line cards, SPA interfaces, memory, power supplies and software release in the offered configuration. IP Base in the Cisco ONE description does not identify the installed forwarding capacity, interface inventory or optional security and session licenses.

Receiving and entitlement acceptance

Match the purchase order to PID C1-ASR1004/K9, chassis serial and component inventory. Then verify the intended Cisco ONE suite, license ownership, support contract, API or controller requirements and migration rights. Keep hardware acceptance and software-entitlement acceptance as separate signed records.

Lifecycle decision

Cisco's ASR1004 lifecycle notice lists C1-ASR1002-HX/K9 and C1-ASR1006X/K9 as migration choices for this Cisco ONE PID. Select between the compact HX and modular 1006-X paths by interface count, redundancy, throughput and reusable module requirements; neither is an automatic like-for-like substitute.
