C1-ASR1001-X/K9 is identified in Table 14 as the Cisco ONE ASR 1001-X chassis with IP Base, APIC EM and APIs. The C1 hardware entry and the Foundation/AUC software-suite entries are different selections. Obtain the configured order and software entitlement record together; the hardware code alone does not establish the complete suite purchased for the router.

Plan the fixed interface connections

The ASR1001-X platform has six built-in 1 GE interfaces that accept SFP modules only, plus two built-in 10 GE interfaces for SFP+ modules. Cisco specifies that the latter operate at the 10-GE rate only. These are physical interface capabilities, not a list of optics supplied or proof that every port is licensed and enabled. Match transceivers and the activation record to the planned links.

Separate physical ports from performance licensing

This is the one-rack-unit ASR1001-X platform with a fixed, nonmodular embedded services processor. Its installation guide describes a default 2.5 Gbps forwarding level and software-activated upgrades to 5, 10 or 20 Gbps. The C1 ordering row does not select one of those upgrades. Check the actual performance entitlement before treating the sum of front-panel port speeds as a delivered forwarding rate.

Review the existing support position

The exact C1-ASR1001-X/K9 row appears in the ASR1001-X/1002-X lifecycle notice. Manufacturer sale ended August 1, 2022, software maintenance ended August 1, 2023, and vulnerability/security support ended July 31, 2025. The later last-support milestone of July 31, 2027 applies under the notice contract conditions and is not a security-update commitment. Confirm the serial and current coverage before a legacy deployment.

Check dates and software rights independently

The same notice gives October 27, 2026 as the last service-contract renewal date, after the August 1, 2023 new-service attachment cutoff. Do not infer that an uncovered unit can receive a new contract now. Historical Cisco ONE software portability depended on annual SWSS; the chassis condition and C1 prefix do not establish active SWSS or present transfer eligibility. Request those records separately.

Evaluate a replacement as a new configuration

For this C1 PID, the lifecycle table points to Product Migration Options instead of naming a single interchangeable replacement order. Review interface requirements, performance licensing and software ownership when selecting a current platform. The official ASR1001-X image illustrates the platform only; it does not identify the offered serial, installed optics, power configuration or licensed capacity.
