ASR1001X-20G-K9 Licensed 20 Gbps Base Bundle

ASR1001X-20G-K9 is the 20 Gbps performance order for the fixed ASR 1001-X platform. Cisco's PID description identifies a K9 AES base bundle with six built-in 1G interfaces and two 10G ports for the 20G configuration.

Prove the enabled performance state

The chassis shares hardware lineage with lower-throughput bundles, so the label alone is insufficient during receiving. Capture show platform hardware throughput level, the installed license record and a post-reload status showing the 20 Gbps state before treating the router as accepted.

Map both 10G interfaces

Document optic or DAC type, peer, addressing, redundancy and measured negotiated rate for each 10G link. The lower ASR1001X-5G-K9 order lists six built-in 1G interfaces and a 5 Gbps entitlement; it cannot be represented as this bundle without a valid performance and port-activation upgrade.

K9 base versus security packages

This PID is the base K9 AES bundle. It is distinct from ASR1001X-20G-SEC and ASR1001X-20G-VPN. Validate IOS XE technology packages, IPsec/VPN entitlement and required throughput under the intended services instead of attaching sibling-bundle claims.

Lifecycle and migration record

The ASR1001-X line ended sale on August 1, 2022. Cisco identifies IOS XE 17.9 as the final supported IOS XE release and July 31, 2027 as the last date of support. Procurement should include support eligibility, configuration export, spare coverage and an approved replacement path.
