AIR-CT7510-1K-K9 1,000-AP Order Identity

AIR-CT7510-1K-K9 is the one-thousand-access-point version of Cisco's legacy Flex 7510 controller. Cisco's ordering table separately lists 300, 500, 1K, 2K, 3K and 6K configurations, so the complete PID must be retained when verifying controller capacity.

1K capacity reconciliation

Count active APs, spares used for staging, forecast branch additions and any recovery requirement before accepting this tier. If the verified estate is approaching one thousand APs, record whether an additive capacity license is available and valid for the installed controller rather than silently substituting the separate 2K base configuration.

Branch acceptance workflow

For every remote site, preserve AP model and regulatory domain, local switching mode, VLAN mapping, authentication path and behavior during WAN loss. Test a representative branch while disconnected from the controller, then confirm AP rejoin, client policy and central monitoring after connectivity returns.

Software and entitlement evidence

Record the controller software build, existing capacity authorization, configuration backup and supported AP matrix. Capacity does not prove compatibility. Any transfer of legacy equipment should include entitlement ownership and license evidence; a chassis label alone cannot establish that the 1K authorization is usable.

Retirement decision

Cisco identifies this product line as end of support, with April 30, 2022 as the support end date. Treat available units as legacy recovery or migration assets only after a security and operational exception. Build a dated transition plan to a currently supported controller and validate how WLAN, FlexConnect and AP compatibility will change.
