AIR-AP1852I-F-K9 is the F-domain, controller-based internal-antenna model in the Aironet 1850 family. It combines 3x4:3 operation at 2.4 GHz, 4x4:4 Wave 2 at 5 GHz and a PoE uplink with an AUX Gigabit port.

F-domain eight-channel 5 GHz plan

Cisco lists four 20 MHz channels from 5.250-5.350 GHz and four from 5.725-5.825 GHz, plus 2.412-2.472 GHz at 2.4 GHz. This narrow two-block plan is materially different from AIR-AP1852I-A-K9; verify country approval and the controller's regulatory configuration before deployment.

Replacement join qualification

This is a K9 controller order, not a K9C Mobility Express image. Test CAPWAP discovery, code download, certificate acceptance, AP-group assignment and radio policy on the destination controller. Preserve console output and rollback steps for aging inventory.

Power and link acceptance

Cisco's 802.3af mode disables AUX Ethernet and USB on the 1852i. Confirm the intended PoE source before evaluating link aggregation. Inspect the internal-antenna enclosure, mounting bracket, main uplink, AUX interface and both radios.

Support horizon

Cisco's exact-PID retirement table names this F-domain model and Catalyst 9115AX as the migration family. Software maintenance has ended and last support is 30 April 2027, making controller compatibility and replacement planning mandatory quote fields.
