Acceptance checklist
- Reconcile the complete appliance or bundle SKU, serial number and supplied accessories with the purchase order. Treat the standard FG-40F, cellular variant and FG-60F as distinct configurations.
- Map every WAN, internal and FortiLink connection before installation. The standard FG-40F has five GE RJ45 ports, including one WAN; the FG-60F has ten, including two WAN and one DMZ. Confirm the intended port roles rather than assuming identical cabling.
- Check device registration and the purchased FortiCare and FortiGuard entitlements, including the agreed service period. Resolve account or contract mismatches before relying on security updates.
- Validate the planned FortiOS release and remote-access design before migration. The current data sheets for both series state that SSL VPN is not supported on FortiOS 7.6.0 and later; an older SSL-VPN throughput figure is not evidence of availability on the chosen release.
- Test representative traffic with the selected inspection and security services enabled, including encrypted traffic and the required IPsec tunnels. Record latency, resource use and application behaviour against the project acceptance limits.
- Exercise the agreed WAN failure scenario and verify configuration backup and recovery. If a paired deployment is ordered, separately confirm its hardware, licensing and failover behaviour; retain the results with the serial and entitlement record.
