RPS9+E 500 W ICX7750 Exhaust Power Supply

RPS9+E is a 500 W AC power supply for the ICX7750 platform. RUCKUS defines power-supply-side exhaust, which corresponds to port-side intake airflow. It is not an RPS15 supply and must not be selected for ICX7650, ICX7450 or ICX6610 based on wattage alone.

Pair airflow with the fan set

The E direction must match the chassis thermal design and the ICX7750-FAN-E fan set. The sibling RPS9+I reverses airflow. Before replacing one unit in a redundant pair, compare the complete PSU and fan PIDs instead of relying on the shared 500 W rating.

Lifecycle is part of the purchase decision

RUCKUS lists the ICX7750 hardware and RPS9E supply as no longer orderable after December 31, 2023. Treat any procurement as installed-base maintenance: verify condition, serial traceability, remaining support path, available spares and the approved migration plan rather than presenting it as a current-generation component.

Receiving and failover test

Inspect the connector, latch, labels and airflow arrows; confirm the exact ICX7750 chassis and compatible fan direction; then verify PSU status, alarms, thermal readings, load sharing and removal failover. RPS15-E and RPS15-I are lower-power supplies for different ICX families and are not substitutes.
